In January of 1990, I was hired on at RECON. I was brought in at the “ground level” by first performing all functions as a laborer. During my time with Recon, I have been fortunate to be mentored by multiple peers, Specialty Craftsmen, and Supervisors alike. Utilizing the knowledge that I learned during what I look at as my “training years,” I have been able to learn multiple aspects of the industry; thereby enabling me to work my way up to positions of increased responsibility within RECON. I am currently responsible for defining work scope, assigning personnel to specified projects, as well as overseeing the yard facility operations in Long Beach, CA. I involve myself closely in the bid process in order to give the best, most competitive pricing. I perform periodic inspections throughout the duration of my jobs and help our clients look forward with detailed reports. My responsibilities also include seeking out the most qualified, skilled craftsmen in the business. I supervise crews specializing in Refractory and Mechanical Projects, as well as Turn-key Projects in a wide range of industrial plants. These plants range from Refining, Petrochemical, Mining, and Power, to include Steel and Cement industries. In addition, I hold an American Petroleum Institute (API)- 936 Certification as a qualified Refractory Inspector. My time with RECON has allowed me to build relationships within the industry, support my family financially, and to travel throughout the United States. It has enabled me to develop and provide a broad knowledge base in supervising refractory and mechanical construction projects. I look forward to continuing my contribution to this Company, and developing a sense of pride among my co-workers in regards to safety, finished product quality, and exceeding client expectations with superior professional completion of projects.
